Naomhan is a Circus Artist and Educator from Galway, in the west of Ireland. He started his journey at the age of 16 when he joined the Galway Community Circus, where he performed in several shows mentored by the world renowned Aerial Dance company Fidget Feet. It was then he was asked the life-changing question, 'Have you ever thought about a career in Circus?'
After failing an audition into Circus school, he decided to focus on his Art Practice enrolling in the Limerick School of Art and Design where he studied Sculpture and Combined Media. Not one to deny his circus blood, he blended Visual Arts with Circus skills (much to the disgrace of his teachers!) in which he went on to win several awards and recognitions for. After graduating in 2016, he started working at the Irish Aerial Creation Centre where he became the Head Teacher as well as the Coordinator on the Aerial Dance Module in the University of Limerick. It was there he developed his interest in the pedagogy of Circus that would fuel his style of teaching to this day.
In 2019, Naomhan returned to his circus roots in a new role, as an Artist and Educator. There he was selected to join a European teacher training program in Social Circus Education with the Caravan Circus Network, where he solidified his pedagogical principals of all-inclusivity.
Since 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, Naomhan has been focusing on the creation of his own body of work combining his many unique perspectives and talents. His work is based on the Gothic in Contemporary Culture, of which there is currently endless inspiration.
